Anglesey’s town centres are undergoing a visual transformation through the ‘Paint the Town’ initiative, developed and delivered by Môn Communities Forward (MônCF) with support from Isle of Anglesey County Council.
Launched as a pilot in 2024, the project has already improved the exterior of 60 buildings across the island, with a further 80 properties set to benefit in 2025/26. The scheme is expanding from its original focus on Holyhead and Amlwch to include Llangefni.
The work targets prominent groups of adjoining high street properties, with close collaboration between property owners, town councils, and local painting and scaffolding contractors.
Funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns placemaking programme, the initiative is administered by Isle of Anglesey County Council.
