The UK Government has outlined UKSPF funding 2025-26 as:
Extension of the 2022-25 fund: Although the funding is separate for budgetary and reporting purposes, this extension aims to ensure stability for Local Authorities.
Transition year: This period provides certainty ahead of wider funding reform and facilitates a smooth transition from the current UKSPF programme to a new funding framework in the future.
Continuing with the current approach and administration: Local Authorities will once again decide on the projects they want to support. There won’t be a regional Open Call process this time, but funding opportunities will be available in each county. Further details of each Authority’s allocation and ways to access funding can be found on their websites.
Continuity of existing activity: Local Authorities will have the option to continue to support projects from their existing portfolio, where appropriate, during the transition year 2025-26.
Key changes for the transition year 2025-26:
Simplified Interventions: The list of eligible interventions has been simplified and aligned with the UK Government’s new priorities, which include 5 themes and 12 sub-themes.
Reduced Reporting: The number of required outputs and outcomes has been reduced.
Multiply Program Integration: The multiply program (adult numeracy) will no longer be a separate, earmarked program. However, adult numeracy projects can still be funded under the broader category of essential skills.
